GEOMETRIC PORTABLE SUCCULENT TRAY

This geometric portable succulent tray makes it easy to rearrange these succulents in your home and add a pop of color and life to any room! Here's what you'll need:

Materials:

  • 4 - 2 1/2in. Succulents
  • 1 - 17 x 4 1/4 Tray
  • 4 - 3in. W x 2 3/4in. H x 3in. D Dipping bowls
  • 3 to 4 Acrylic Paints
  • Plant soil
  • Clear water protective spray (I used matte, but glossy can work too.)
  • Spray paint - Optional

Tools:

  • Paint Brush
  • Drop Cloth
  • Painters Tape
  • Scissors
  • Cup of water
  • Disposable plate

If you decide to spray paint your dipping bowls another color, do this first so they have more time to dry. Turn the bowls face down on the drop cloth and spray evenly around the outside of the bowls. Let dry.

Use the tape and scissors to create geometric patterns on the tray. Press the tape on the tray to ensure it is in place to prevent paint from seeping through. The goal is to get crisp shapes.

Pour a small amount of paint onto the disposable plate. Use the paint brush to paint the exposed shapes on the tray. Alternate colors and use the cup of water to clean the brush before switching colors. Let the paint dry for a few hours.

Check on dipping bowls, if dry spray with the clear water protective spray paint. Let this dry for a half hour. Carefully remove succulents from the original pot keeping the soil intact. Place into dry dipping bowls. Fill holes with soil so the plant is packed tight in the dipping bowl.

Carefully remove tape from the tray. If the paint has seeped under the tape, wet a paint brush and carefully clean the edge for a clean line. Spray with clear water protective spray and let it dry for a half hour.

Place re-potted succulents on the tray and get ready to easily move this tray of succulents around your home!
